In a city of more than 1.4 people facing little or no food each day, hunger is everywhere. Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness wanted to jolt New Yorkers out of their complacency so they could no longer simply walk past homeless and hungry people on the street – instead, motivating them to volunteer, donate and spread the word.

 

Collaborating with Crossroads Community Services, Saatchi and Saatchi ran the Erase Hunger project, a pop-up designed for street food markets and food fairs – where hungry New Yorkers gather for food. The pop-up has free packets of eating utensils, and invites people to grab one while they eat. On the back of each packet is a card that instructs people to share with the hungry and homeless living on the street. The card lists the time and place when delicious food is given out at Crossroads Community, a local soup kitchen and food pantry.

 

Over a four-month period, social engagement on Facebook has increased 150%. Plus, the team has seen a 25% increase in people being fed at Crossroad Community. All to unite the community to help erase hunger.
